I absolutely love the thought of being someone that reads books. I romanticise the thought of it, you know, sitting in a bubble bath with a wine, candles and peace and quite. When I was in primary school I had a friend that had her own library. She had what seemed like millions of books. She always had her head in a book and it looked like fun. I wanted to be like her, I wanted to be smart. I borrowed a few books from her library (she was so cute, she even had borrowing cards) and I tried to read. The thing is, reading, writing and spelling NEVER came easy to me. I came from a home of English is not our native tongue nor was it the main language we spoke at home. So once the spelling and reading levels became difficult, I was literally on my own. Knowing what I know now, I propably had a learning disorder. Fast forward to my twenties and I gave reading another go. Did it come easy, no!. Is it romantic, also no! but do I love it, yes!. It is a love hate relationship, I must admit, as I still struggle with it.
So my answer is to start the book on Audible – and then decide if it is worth buying the book and re reading it to make notes and dog ear “the good bits”.
I vere towards the self help books and generally stay away from the non fiction. I hope to change this in the future. Below are a list of books that I have read and found to be worth not only a read but to purchase. I will add periodically so keep checking this page. I sincerely hope these help you as much as they helped me.

This is a book I ran to buy! I don’t think I finished listening to this on Audible before I bought a copy.
James Clear explains the fundamentals of Habits, why they work, why they don’t and what to do to ensure the habits you are trying to create, stick.
This is a clear, concise and practical guide to habit setting. James Clear explains the why and the how. He breaks Habits into 4 main steps:
Make it obvious.
Make it attractive.
Make it Easy.
Make it satisfying.
He explains each step, again with the why and how. He does this without all that wanky bull shit chit chat. It is clear and simple.
Have I used his teachings in my day to day life. Every time I go to set a habit, I grab his book and skim through the chapters. This is literally a book you will keep looking back on.
